Who we are
MetaBreakers, a sole proprietorship based in California, runs metabreakers.gg, a daily fantasy sports research and lineup-building tool. We are not affiliated with DraftKings or any sportsbook.
What we collect
- Account: your email address, a scrambled (hashed) version of your password, and your DraftKings username if you add it.
- Payments: handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. We keep the Stripe customer and subscription IDs and a card fingerprint Stripe gives us, so one card can't take repeated free trials.
- Contest uploads: DraftKings contest result files you choose to upload. These files are public contest standings, so they also list other players' usernames and lineups.
- What you build: the lineups, settings and saved setups you create on the site.
- Questions to our AI assistant: the text of questions you ask it.
- Security and logs: your IP address when you log in (to block password-guessing), and standard server logs.
Cookies
We use one cookie that keeps you logged in, for up to 30 days. We don't use advertising cookies or third-party tracking or analytics scripts.
How we use it
- To run the service: build lineups, show your results and grade our predictions.
- To improve our models. We combine uploaded contest results into overall statistics, such as how the field picks players and what winning lineups look like.
- To keep accounts secure and to send account emails (sign-up, password reset, billing).
Other players in your uploads: we use their contest data only in combined statistics. We don't show other players' usernames on the site or share them.
Public data we read
Our models use public sports data: stats, schedules, betting lines, and public posts from sports reporters on services like Threads and Bluesky, which we use to spot injury and lineup news faster. We read only public posts, keep the post text, time and author for news detection, and delete them after 90 days.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your data and we don't show ads. We share data only with services that help us run the site:
- Cloudflare: delivers the website securely.
- Stripe: payments.
- Resend: sends account emails.
- AI providers (OpenAI and Groq): help write lineup notes and answer some questions. We send only what the feature needs, such as the question you type or the players in a lineup. We never send your password or payment details.
We may also disclose data if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep account data while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete your account details and your personal uploads within 30 days. Statistics that were already combined with everyone else's can't be separated back out. Payment records are kept as tax law requires.
Your choices
- You can see or change your account details on your account page.
- You can ask for a copy of your data or for deletion by emailing [email protected].
- California residents have the rights described in the CCPA: to know, delete and correct personal information, and not to be discriminated against for using them. We don't sell or share personal information for advertising.
Deleting your data
To delete your account and data, email [email protected] from your account email with the subject "Delete my data". We confirm by email and finish within 30 days. If you connected a Threads or other social account, deleting also removes any login token we stored for it.
Security
Passwords are hashed, the site uses encrypted connections, and repeated failed logins lock the account. No system is perfect. If we learn of a breach affecting you, we will tell you.
Children
MetaBreakers is for adults only: 18 or older, or the legal DFS age in your state if it is higher. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone younger.
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll email you before it takes effect.
